Getting through a Sunday

Lazy and blind is
not a great combination
seeing as I just want to stay
inside
in bed
in my boxers
listening to books while
my family goes places that
are too crowded and
visually-oriented for me
to actually enjoy or even
tolerate without agitation.

Kids making memories
that don’t involve me.

Wife developing
de facto single parenting skills.

I sit listening to a history of
the Clinton administration as
a cat snores on my pillow and
not for the first time
wonder what makes
life worth living.
